Why Monero for Privacy

Unlike Bitcoin, Monero hides sender address, recipient address and transaction amount by default on every transaction — using ring signatures, stealth addresses and RingCT. This is not optional. All Monero transactions are private regardless of which wallet you use. Chain analysis firms have publicly acknowledged they cannot reliably trace Monero transactions.

Feather adds network-level privacy on top: connecting via Tor prevents nodes from correlating your IP address with your transaction activity.

Tor Routing — What It Protects

Scenario Result
Without Tor Your IP visible to Monero nodes — transaction timing correlation possible
With Feather’s built-in Tor Node sees exit relay IP — no correlation to real IP
Combined with Monero privacy Blockchain layer + network layer both protected

Hardware Wallet Integration

Feather supports Ledger Nano S/S+/X and Trezor Model T. With a hardware wallet connected, Feather constructs transactions but cannot sign them — signing requires physical confirmation on the device. Your private key never leaves the hardware device. This protects against malware that attempts to extract software wallet keys from memory.
